Today on Feminine Roadmap: Finding what’s next with artist Louise Barson.
After many years in a corporate career in accounting, at the age of 59 Louise decided it was time for a change. The thing was that she had no idea what that was going to be until she needed to renew her passport. When she had to fill out the occupation box she thought I’ll put artist and then forgot about it. A few months later her husband reminded her that she hadn’t begun being an artist so she took that gentle nudge and started.
Since creating Christmas cards in her new role as artist she hasn’t looked back. Louise found her next season through painting. In this episode she shares some of the mindsets and practices that can help someone who is looking at their next season without an idea of what’s next.
She encourages people to start slow looking – taking the time to see what’s in front of you, what brings you joy, what lights you up. Also practicing slow enjoyment, taking the time to be present with your days and what you’re experiencing. There are little clues all around us that can lead us to what’s next. Reconnecting with life in this way can not only help guide us but it grounds us and gives us a sense of joy and purpose.
When we are seeking what’s next, joy is a big element of that journey. Find things that invigorate you and be open to the positive things coming your way. If you are looking for what’s next, this conversation will encourage and inspire you to not hold back. Go ahead grab a cuppa something wonderful and give it a go, see what happens. http://www.louisebarson.co.uk http://www.feminineroadmap.com
